my treat

I choose to embrace

Nature’s benevolence

and savor in silence,

Her deafening opulence.

My space, Your space…

Once bubbly and feisty,

Now peaceful among the roots

Nature’s warm bosom,

Earth’s bed space occupied

A lesson lost on other tenants

busy amassing, ruthless, heartless

Pointing their morbid sticks

swaying to macabre Chants,

Unsatisfied, relentless

In a breadth, each to his space

Just enough for the bearers,

Stretching out for help

Afraid to stand a minute longer,

Where raining mud soon fill

You were there

Through the pains, heartaches

Delays, doubts, and fears

Through the struggle

Denials, and strife

You were there

You are loyal and faithful

A dependable rock

You believed in me

And taught me to do

Likewise, my best friend

You opened my heart

To see the challenge

As a phase, a process that

Will bring forth my inner

Beauty and strength

You showed me the light

You took away my fears

You guided my steps

You gave me victory

You are always here

You are my strength

My pillar and my refuge

Today I say, thank You.

Awakening to self

SereneLake

Answers that I seek

in the silence of my heart

questions abound

opinions innumerable

so much sound

no melody, searching,

peace eludes

So much clamor for silence

jumbled conversations

going around in circles

returning to the starting point

running to silence for clarity

With silence

rearranging, analyzing

I let go, be in the flow

only then,

awakening to self

Priceless gift

girl-face-smile-hair-hands-happiness-happiness-sports-mood-walk-beach-sky-sea-blue-summer

Set it free and let them go

look around you and breathe in

there are a thousand and one things

to be thankful for, close your eyes and live

Feel the splash of warmth that envelops your being

let go of worries that drain you of today and deny you tomorrow

Rather, bask in the euphoria of this precious moment

a gift that is priceless.
